There has never been more change going on in Washington and taxes than right now. What impact will these changes have on CPAs and their clients?

On Wednesday, January 27 and January 28, 2010 Mark Everson (Most Recent IRS Commissioner) and Dean Zerbe (Former Sr. Counsel of the Senate Finance Committee) will meet one-on-one in Los Angeles (1/27) and Orange County (1/28), California, with invited CPAs to address the current state of tax legislation in Washington and to discuss such business concerns as:

  • Increased Audits
  • Additional Tax Compliance Burdens
  • Delays in Resolution
  • AMT Issues

A similar meeting held in New York recently was a rousing success. With this meeting, alliantgroup continues its mission to talk to CPAs and businesses throughout the country in an effort to better understand their issues and bring them to light at the highest levels of government. Information gleaned from this session will be used to reach out to policy makers on the Hill and at the Treasury (the IRS), so that the voice of alliantgroup's key constituents, CPA firms and the businesses they serve, will be heard.

These meetings are a reflection of alliantgroup's ongoing commitment to serve as a sounding board and the “voice” of CPA firms and their clients. Why do the IRS and Finance Committee pay close attention to Everson and Zerbe? Because they're voicing the concerns of small and mid-sized business, the economic engine of our country.
