alliantgroup Expands Tax Deduction Service Line for American Made Goods

HOUSTON, June 27, 2017 /PRNewswire/ alliantgroup, a leading tax consultancy and the nation’s premier provider of specialty tax services, is proud to announce the expansion of the firm’s Domestic Production Activities Deduction (DPAD) service line.

First implemented in 2005, DPAD is a federal tax incentive designed to reward companies that manufacture and produce their goods in the United States rather than outsourcing overseas. The deduction is available to businesses that engage in domestic manufacturing and production activities, allowing qualifying companies to receive an up to 9 percent tax deduction on income earned from qualified production activities.

“In a time when there is a heavy emphasis placed on buying and producing American made goods, our firm felt it was important to expand our efforts with respect to DPAD,” said Dhaval Jadav, alliantgroup CEO. “DPAD is an excellent way to reward those companies that have chosen to keep their manufacturing facilities on American shores.”

While DPAD is generally associated with traditional manufacturers, the deduction has been claimed by companies from a range of industries. Some industries other than manufacturing that have also qualified for DPAD include architecture, engineering and construction firms performing services on domestic construction projects, film and video producers, sound recording companies, computer software developers, food and beverage producers and electricity and natural gas producers. As long as a business is engaged in the production of domestic goods and is in line with other important tax compliance requirements, it may be eligible for the deduction.
