alliantgroup, the nation’s premier provider of specialty tax services, is proud to announce that it has been nominated for the Houston Business Journal’s inaugural Corporate Philanthropy Awards. The firm has been nominated as a large company finalist for the number of volunteer hours served by employees.
The Houston Business Journal’s inaugural finalists are separated into two lists, one set that ranks companies by the number of volunteer hours served and the other by the amount of money donated to the United Way of Greater Houston. The Houston Business Journal will honor all companies on the list—and reveal their rankings—at an awards ceremony on Wednesday, November 1.
Within the past year, alliantgroup has invested in numerous philanthropic efforts for the benefit of the city of Houston and the state of Texas. Among the most notable endeavors include the firm’s commitment to advancing STEM education in our public schools and universities. Within the last year, alliantgroup has held events to increase exposure to STEM education at an early age, such as the company’s sponsorship of a Parker Elementary field trip to the Houston Museum of Natural Science. This fall, the firm also rolled out its new STEM scholarship program for high school students within the state of Texas.
In addition to its investments in education, alliantgroup has done volunteer work for Habitat for Humanity, the Ronald McDonald House and Leukemia Texas. The company has also been heavily involved in Hurricane Harvey relief efforts.
“Our firm’s philanthropic efforts have covered a diverse range of initiatives over the last year,” said Kim Tardy, alliantgroup’s Director of Talent. “From public education to children’s welfare to our Hurricane Harvey relief efforts and work with Leukemia Texas, alliantgroup has invested in our city to create thriving communities across Houston.”
“It is a true honor to be nominated for this award,” said Dhaval Jadav, alliantgroup CEO. “In the wake of Hurricane Harvey, I saw first-hand how adversity brought out the true character of our people. Our employees made a full-on commitment to helping those in need and in rebuilding our wonderful city. This nomination just reaffirms what I have always known about the quality of people here at alliantgroup.”
