Aug. 23, 2018 | published in PRNewswire[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]alliantgroup is proud to announce that they are accepting applicants for the Fall 2018 STEM Scholarship Program, presented by the firm’s charitable initiative, the alliantgroup Blue Heart Fund. The firm’s scholarship program is offering up to $10,000 for education expenses to students that are pursuing a future career in a STEM (science, technology, engineering, mathematics) field.

The first round of alliantgroup STEM Scholarship winners, who were awarded earlier in 2018, hailed from all corners of the country with plans to major in STEM-related fields such as biomedical science and mechanical engineering at prestigious universities like Louisiana State University and The Ohio State University.

“Our mission, with both the scholarship program and the Blue Heart Fund as a whole, is to be able to help foster the growth of the next generation of STEM professionals,” said alliantgroup CEO Dhaval Jadav. “Our clients and partners that we work with on a daily-basis have voiced time and time again the struggles that they face trying to find, train and retain top technical talent, and so we decided to take action to try and alleviate any barriers that would restrict a student from pursuing an interest in STEM.”

The firm has been very vocal and transparent regarding their concerns for the future of the U.S. workforce, as the feedback received from clients and partners, such as NSCA and PMPA, has been that there is a clear lack of technical talent. The program was designed to both incentivize as well as overcome obstacles that may prevent a student with an interest in a STEM-based career from pursuing it further. Beginning with the Fall 2018 STEM Scholarship Program, the firm has expanded the program to now include eligible students within the Greater Houston Area.

“With the U.S. clearly suffering from a shortage of new technical talent, having a program like this in place felt like the best way to benefit both the industries we serve as well as the next generation of young professionals,” said Jadav. “We are proud to expand the program and look forward to awarding the next round of winners with these scholarships to help drive continued passion and interest in STEM-related fields.”
