While much of the government’s focus has been on bringing relief to businesses, not much has been said about the non-profit entities that provide valuable civic benefits to the community. It turns out many of the relief provisions that are helping businesses take care of their employees can also be claimed by non-profits to support their staffs and continue their missions.

Potentially the biggest relief provision available to non-profits is the Employee Retention Credit (ERC). The credit provides significant funds to non-profits that have faced impacts to their operations due to the pandemic. Non-profits can qualify for the credit based on Covid based disruptions including:
- Stoppage in programming
- Having to reduce hours
- Having to reduce hours to sanitize
- Having to shift delivery model for services
- Difficulty shifting to remote work
- Having to shut down some locations but not others
- Having to shut down some departments but not others
- Supply chain disruptions
The list above is not at all exhaustive and there are many things that impacted non-profits that also qualify.
alliantgroup has been deeply committed to supporting charitable organizations. Our Blue Heart Fund has handed out hundreds of thousands of dollars to non-profits but what we’re best at is helping businesses claim powerful federal incentives. We want to help non-profits claim the relief that will help them take care of their staff and get operations going again so they can serve the community.
