Tool & Screw Manufacturer

Our client was required to design and develop new features including a zip-tie cutter, carbon scraper, hammer, cap crimpers, wire cutters, removable and replaceable C4 punches, and AR15 disassembly pins. The company faced numerous uncertainties involved with development of the new features. They designed prototypes and conducted benchmark testing of various designs to determine the optimal results. The company was also uncertain as to which process was best in the forming of a new type of scraper which required new tooling. Furthermore, they were uncertain as to whether a hammer could be utilized without causing damage to the tool.

Multi-Tools Manufacturer

Our client designed and developed new removable, high-performing cutter inserts. The company was required to develop these inserts without compromising jaw strength. They designed, developed and tested prototypes of cutter inserts utilizing various materials and processes such as cutter angles, alloys and other metals to determine the optimal material and cutter shape to improve performance. Testing included finite element analysis to evaluate jaw strength to determine the optimal design. Further testing developed the optimal shape of the tool handle; the company ultimately decided on a “neck-down” handle design.
