From flipping light switches at two years old to building drones at fourteen, Ben has always been fascinated by the way the world works. Some of Benjamin’s special childhood memories that triggered his passion for STEM were when he met his idol James Spann, a phenomenal meteorologist from Alabama and the day he flew a drone for the first time. He was fascinated by the way it worked!
Benjamin’s greatest inspiration is his maternal grandfather. Although he came from humble beginnings, his grandfather always made sure to work hard to be able to provide a better life for his family. His grandfather’s exceptional work ethic has inspired Benjamin to create a lasting impact in society in the future, though his work in STEM.[/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space height=”10px”][vc_message style=”square” message_box_color=”blue” icon_type=”linecons” icon_linecons=””]Fun fact: Ben loves swimming! He has participated in multiple swimming competitions for nearly eleven years![/vc_message][vc_empty_space height=”10px”][vc_column_text]His love of discovery drove him to take STEM classes in high school like AP Computer Science and AP Physics but that was not enough! Since his high school did not offer many STEM classes, Ben decided to enroll in the University of Alabama Early College program to get a head start in his college career.
