alliantgroup recently hosting the United Negro College Fund (UNCF)– South Texas/Houston Walk for Education Kickoff Reception at our global headquarters in Houston, Texas. The reception brought together sponsors, supporters, participants, and scholarship winners to rally support for the 38th Annual Walk for Education.
The United Negro College Fund is the nation’s largest private scholarship provider to minority students. Each year, UNCF awards more than $100 million in scholarships to students attending more than 1,100 schools across the country, including its network of 37 Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs).
Zarinah K. Poole, UNCF’s Houston Area Development Director, expressed her gratitude, saying, “This was amazing! I could not have asked for a greater turnout or energy!” Clearly, the push for education and empowerment was hitting home with everyone in attendance.
alliantgroup maintains a commitment to promoting Black Excellence and uplifting the next generation of Black leaders in our community. alliantgroup’s employee resource group, the alliantgroup Black Collaborative, works in the community to ensure more Black students have the opportunity to become the leaders of tomorrow. alliantgroup is excited to be the official Finish Line sponsor at this year’s annual UNCF South Texas Walk for Education for the second year in a row.
The UNCF Kickoff Reception is an example of how communities and corporations can come together and support critical educational initiatives. The annual Walk for Education is a reminder that these initiatives are ongoing and vital for creating better opportunities in our society for everyone. We applaud the UNCF South Texas/ Houston’s efforts to promote education and thank them for allowing alliantgroup to participate and show our support. Together, we can make a significant impact on the future success of our youth and communities.
