Jan. 22, 2019 | published in PRNewswire[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]alliantgroup will be hosting a “Generating STEM” luncheon for recipients of its Greater Houston Area STEM Scholarship Award, where the company will give out $30,000 in scholarships to local high school seniors who have chosen to pursue a degree in a STEM field.

The luncheon will take place on Tuesday, January 29, at alliantgroup’s global headquarters in Houston. During the event, the six scholarship recipients will be recognized for both their academic and extracurricular activities and will receive $5,000 to go toward their college education. Fox26 Houston Meteorologist John Dawson will emcee the event.

“It’s so inspiring to see how passionate these students are for STEM,” alliantgroup CEO Dhaval Jadav said. “These six individuals are shining examples of students who are the future of STEM, which touches countless industries and has proven to be a driving force behind our country’s economy and overall success.”

Each of the scholarship recipients attends a high school in the Greater Houston Area and have shown a dedication to STEM through their academic performances and extracurricular activities. In order to be considered for the scholarship, students needed to write an essay answering a number of questions, including how their passion for STEM has fueled their education goals and what impact they feel they could make in today’s economy.

“We were so overwhelmed with the number of quality applicants that we ultimately had to increase the number of scholarships we originally intended to give out!” Jadav said. “This group is so incredibly talented, diverse and driven. I’m so excited to see where their STEM educations take them because the possibilities are endless.”

The scholarships were given as a part of alliantgroup’s STEM Scholarship program, which in 2018 gifted a total of $240,000 to students who have dedicated themselves to STEM educations.
